Tattoo Ankh?

I want to get a tattoo of an ankh, its an Egyptian symbol meaning life. I love what the symbol looks like, and i love the absolute beauty of life. but some of my friends and family are saying crap like, "but your not egyptian," or "that symbol means so much different stuff now". i know it means different things know, like how its been adopted into the vampire scene and Gothic rock like The 69 Eyes. but i love the true nature of the symbol, what is your opinions on people getting tattoos of cultures their not from (like people not Asian getting oriental symbols, or non native Americans getting native American style tattoos. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankh

I think of it as a way of expressing something you love about another culture, maybe something in egyptian sumed up what you feel like in your culture more to your liking

People can be so hypocritical, i love how people are so against chinese tattoos, and yet their whole living room bedroom etic, is styled in Asian decor, why because they love that aspect of asian culture, they thought something about it was beautiful and meant something extra special i dont see how a tattoo would be any prescription drugs online without prescription different

It's a great show of respect to something in another culture that meant something extra to you
