How bad do lower back tattoos hurt?

I have an appointment to get a tattoo on my lower back it is about 6 inches long and 2 inches tall and will be centered on my back. I am excited but was just wondering about the pain level. My boyfriend and I are going to get tattoos together so he will be there to distract me. I got my nipples pierced and that buying prescription drugs online without a prescription hurt, but the pain went away after about two hours. So how bad will the lower back tat hurt??

The only thing that hurt worse than my thigh tattoo was my nipple piercing. Which fell out before it healed, and I said "good riddance" If you can deal with having your nipples pierced you you should be fine, I can't imagine anything hurting worse than that.
Errrr, well I can think of a few things, but I would never do them willingly.
