How bad do lower back tattoos hurt?

My boyfriend and I are going to get tattoos together so he will be there to distract me. The only thing that hurt worse than my thigh tattoo was my nipple piercing. Which fell out before it healed, and I said "good riddance" If you can deal with having your nipples pierced you you should be fine, I can't imagine anything hurting worse than that.

Errrr, well I can think of a few things, but I would never do them willingly.
